Why We Build Where We Build

Mike and Craig Smith grew up together in New Plymouth, Idaho. Population just over 1,500. The kind of town where everybody knows everybody and your reputation follows you everywhere you go. They did not leave to build something somewhere else. They stayed, and they built something here.

That decision shapes everything about how Agile Homes operates.

We build in towns most builders overlook

Fruitland. Emmett. Payette. Weiser. These are not the suburbs that show up in every new construction advertisement across the Treasure Valley. They are real towns with real character, local diners, farmers markets, rodeos, fiddle festivals, and neighbors who wave when you pull into your driveway.

We build here because we believe in these communities. Not as a marketing position but as a genuine conviction. When Mike and Craig chose to plant Agile Homes in Fruitland, Idaho they were betting on the kind of place they wanted to live and raise families in. That bet has never wavered.

For buyers who have been priced out of Boise or who are relocating from Oregon, Washington, or California and want something different from what they left, these communities offer something that money alone cannot manufacture. A slower pace. Real neighbors. A sense of place.

We stay focused on quality over volume

At Agile Homes we build with a focus on quality over volume. That is intentional.

At our scale every client is known. Every superintendent has a manageable number of homes under construction at any given time. Every trade partner can give each job real attention. And when something needs to be made right, the right people can actually respond.

Larger builders operating at higher volumes make different tradeoffs. We have made ours deliberately and we think our buyers feel the difference.

Our trade partners have been with us for years

This one matters more than it might seem at first.

The people who frame your walls, pour your concrete, wire your home, and finish your floors are not strangers we found last month. Our trade partners have been building alongside us for an average of eight years. Our longest relationships go back more than two decades.

That kind of continuity does not happen by accident. It happens because we treat our trades as partners, pay them fairly, and give them consistent work in communities they know well. In return they show up, they do the work right, and they take pride in what goes up under the Agile Homes name.

When you buy an Agile home you are not getting a house assembled by whoever was available. You are getting the work of people who have been doing this together for a long time.

We invested in the experience

Our Design Center in Fruitland is where your home stops being a floor plan and starts becoming yours. Every selection, countertops, cabinetry, flooring, fixtures, happens in one place with a dedicated design consultant walking you through your options. We built this space because we believe the process of choosing your finishes should feel exciting, not overwhelming. For buyers who have never built before it is often the moment the whole thing becomes real.

Local and Loyal is not a slogan

We use those two words a lot. Local. Loyal. They are on our signs, in our emails, and at the bottom of every piece of content we put out.

But they mean something specific to us.

Loyal means we stand behind what we build, not just until closing day but long after. It means when a client reaches out years down the road with a concern, someone picks up the phone. It means doing the right thing even when it costs something, especially when it costs something.

We have had clients reach out about their home years after they closed. Not months. Years. And our team showed up and made it right. No legal obligation required.

That is what Local. Loyal. actually means to us.

For buyers relocating from out of state

About one in three of our buyers comes from outside Idaho, most from Oregon, Washington, and California. For those buyers the Local. Loyal. story matters in a specific way.

You are making a major decision about a home you may not be able to visit frequently during construction. You are trusting a builder you may have only met once or twice in person. You are betting on a community you are still getting to know.

We take that seriously. Our superintendents communicate consistently throughout the build with photo updates and regular check-ins so you know exactly what is happening on your lot whether you are down the street or two states away. One of our recent out of state buyers said it gave them the ability to be involved every step of the way despite the distance.

That is not a feature we added. It is just how we operate.

Come see what we are building

If you are curious about life in one of our communities, the best thing you can do is come out and walk through a home. Self-guided tours are available across all four of our communities and our team is easy to reach if you want a conversation first.
